Last Thursday, May 16th, the esteemed House of Lucie Budapest was proud to present the winning images from the 2023 BIFA competition. Stepping into the gallery, visitors were greeted with walls full of photographic art in vibrant color and contrasting black and white. The exhibition was a culmination of the best photography of 2023 with each image offering a unique and intimate perspective and story. Every year, the winners' exhibition grows grander and more expansive, with the 2023 group of winners being the most diverse and impressive yet.
Among those attending were 1st and 2nd place winners Lucie Côté, Jana Santava, Radek Von Hirschberg. Photographer of the year Irina Jomir also made an appearance at the event. They were able to speak about their work and guide the audience through their image creation process. In addition to the First and Second place winners in each category, Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners were also shown via an on-screen slideshow. Representation from every photographic genre was present, from portrait photography, fine art photography, nature photography, and even printed examples of the winning photo books.
