Budapest International Foto Awards

Budapest International Foto Awards is an inspirational community that recognises the power and influence of photography in shaping how we see the world. We are here to nurture creative expression and support photographers who have important stories to share through their images.

BIFA’s mission is to promote the work of professional and emerging international photographers to the fast-growing artistic community of Budapest, putting them in the spotlight and providing them with a great platform to showcase their work.

We encourage all photographers to participate–professional, amateur and student–to share your unique talent and vision with the world, and win prizes, awards, and recognition.

Meet the photo editors, art directors, art buyers, gallery owners, curators, publishers and other influential luminaries on the BIFA jury committee.

‘Be Here Bison’ - MIFA 2018⁣
Alice Zilberberg // ⁣@alicezilberberg ⁣
In this series, Zilberberg creates animal montages as an expression of self-therapy. As a person living in the west, moving through a daily life that is sometimes high-pace and emotionally complex, the artist finds calm in the presence of these wild animals. The animals are placed in serene and ethereal scenes to focus on the beauty of the natural environment. In a world where many are constantly looking to the past or the future, these works aim to have a meditative affect on the viewer, promoting staying still to find happiness in the present moment.⁣
