Q: Can you briefly tell us about your background and what inspired you to pursue photography?
I was inspired to pursue photography by the limitless beauty of the world and the endless possibilities it offers for exploration and expression. The process of creation fascinated me, leading me to study at the Kyiv School of Photography to further develop my skills and understanding of this art form.
Q: What drove you to submit your work to the BIFA competition and your thoughts on how winning this competition impacted your artistic journey?
Submitting my work to the Budapest International Foto Awards was driven by the desire to challenge myself and showcase my photography on an international platform. Winning this competition significantly impacted my artistic journey by providing validation, recognition, and exposure, which boosted my confidence and motivated me to continue refining my craft and exploring new creative avenues.
Q: Could you describe any challenges you faced while capturing this moment (winning image/s)?
Jellyfish can be elusive subjects due to their unpredictable movement and translucent nature, making it challenging to capture their intricate details and vibrant colors. However, this challenge pushed me to adapt my photography skills and techniques, resulting in a beautiful series that encapsulates the mesmerizing world of jellyfish.
Q: What, in your opinion, are the most important factors in creating great images?
In my opinion, the most important factors in creating great images are composition, lighting, storytelling, and a unique point of view. These elements collectively contribute to capturing visually compelling and impactful photographs.
Q: What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of photography?
The most challenging aspect of photography, in my view, is consistently finding unique perspectives and innovative ways to express ideas or moments, ensuring each image tells a compelling story while maintaining technical proficiency.
Q: What motivates and drives your photography?
The exploration of beauty in diverse forms and the creative process itself are my primary motivations. Capturing unique perspectives, emotions, and stories drives my passion for photography, constantly pushing me to evolve and refine my craft.
Q: What’s next for you in your career as a photographer?
I’m aiming to delve deeper into storytelling through photography, exploring new themes and techniques, and broadening my scope through exhibitions and publications. Continual growth, experimentation, and sharing my vision are key focuses for my future as a photographer.
