Shuswap Lake Tales explores the latent histories of original homesteaders around Shuswap Lake in British Columbia, Canada. Influenced by memories shared with me by descendants, I layer archival images with the landscape in photomontages to reflect a ghost-like past that doesn’t feature in history books. Just as landscape is built up in layers so are our memories.
I am a Canadian based photographer interested in issues surrounding immigration, identity, memory and language. I use archival images, photomontages and landscape images to explore forgotten histories in the area where I live.
