At Lake Shikotsu in Hokkaido, I captured an overwhelming moment of nature. Heavy, dark clouds press down on the mountain peak, while the cold, solid lake supports its weight from below. I sought to convey a dramatic tension and spectacular grandeur through this powerful confrontation between sky, mountain, and water.
