I’ve always been fascinated by the details of decay in nature. Since my former life came to a complete standstill after I contracted COVID in September 2023, I’ve also been unable to continue my professional photography. I’m now using the very rare opportunities I have to take photos in the garden and inside my house to focus specifically on the theme of decay. I only use natural light in all my photos, and the result, as in this case, was achieved by using a wide aperture and old paper as both the ground and background.
I’m an italian-austrian photographer, born and grown up in Italy and living in Salzburg, Austria. I discovered photography very late in my life. Only one year later I gave up my old jobs and started to work as a freelance photographer and journalist for international magazines and publishers. I am fascinated by the apparently insignificant, by ephemeral and small details in nature. Photographing nature and animals is indispensable to calm my soul while focusing on social themes is a need as a human being. My photos have been awarded many times in internationally renowned photo competitions.
