This series was photographed in old Guangzhou residential neighborhoods, including the street where I grew up.As the city moves at an accelerated pace, with new roads and overpasses constantly redefining the landscape, these old neighborhoods remain, holding onto a fragment of past time. It feels like a hidden timekeeper within the city, marking a slower deeper rhythm. Beneath layers of concrete, so do the plants, pushing between buildings and emerging wherever space allows. Crushed by the tides of development, they stubbornly prove life’s existence with every inch of growth.
My creative practice spans photography, lighting fixture design and jewellery design. Through photography, I seek quiet moments where nature, light, and everyday life come together. Rather than documenting scenes, I aim to capture the subtle emotions that exist within them. My photographs reflect a calm and contemplative perspective, inviting viewers to pause and rediscover beauty in the ordinary.
