The record-breaking 48th eruption of Kilauea Volcano on June 1, 2026. I arrived minutes after it began - vacation took on a new adventure. It was so delightful to watch lava spewing from the earth's surface. The fountain was small when we arrived. Then a roaring, rushing sound would come, and it would grow higher. The sparkling lava filled the world around and rained down globs that burst on impact. The orange glow encompassing the area was surreal. The night's darkness allowed its brilliant colors to take center stage. I believe a fountaining volcano this size is one of Earth's best shows!
I have enjoyed taking pictures all my life. In March 2018, I captured a real-life snowflake resembling a flower. I fell in love with it and began pursuing macro photography. My photographs became the illustrations in my book series, Washed as White as Snow. The snowflake designs tell different aspects of the story of Jesus Christ's good news for the world. I believe God creates and uses the snowflakes to magnify how all creation glorifies Him by telling the story of His redeeming love for mankind. I enjoy taking nature photos and sharing God's beauty in plants, animals, and landscapes.
