This photo series explores the fragile intersection between the timeless rural spirit and its material decay in Northern Romania. Inspired by my 80-year-old grandmother’s resilient land labor, the project logs a disappearing world - from traditional weddings to the uprooting of a Maramureș wooden house. Echoing On Kawara’s I Am Still Alive, every ritual is a vital signal of persistence. What happens when these signals cease? Beyond documenting a region, I seek to preserve an interior world before its last witnesses pass away, leaving us with a reality we failed to understand.
