This series was created in autumn and winter and is dedicated to the trees in the landscape. Many trees were cleared to facilitate agricultural work. Only recently was it recognized what an important contribution the old, gnarled fruit trees in the orchards make. They provide shelter for numerous insects and mammals. Besides, I find these quirkily shaped trees very photogenic, as they each have their own unique character. The autumn and winter fog favored the portraits of the trees, focusing attention on these individual specimens.
I am 55 years old and live in Seligenstadt, Hesse. For many years, I worked as a landscape gardener, where I was able to work creatively with nature. Due to tragic events, I can no longer pursue my profession, which gave me time to devote more intensively to photography. Initially, it was primarily while traveling and in nature that I discovered abstract and contemporary photography. With a camera, you can create beautiful, individual works of art; you just have to get involved. This doesn't happen at the push of a button, however; it happens intuitively, based on the situation.
