In this work, nature and transience merge into a poetic unity. The golden-yellow, partially withered plant stems stand against a deep, almost velvety background that emphasizes their fragile beauty. The texture and coloring are reminiscent of painterly still lifes, in which every detail is deliberately staged, as is the blurring with its gentle transitions. The picture explores the cycle of life—from fresh green to brittle brown, from blossoming to decay. The delicate white butterfly appears as a fleeting moment of hope and lightness, nesting among the traces of time.
I am 55 years old and live in Seligenstadt, Hesse. For many years, I worked as a landscape gardener, where I was able to work creatively with nature. Due to tragic events, I can no longer pursue my profession, which gave me time to devote more intensively to photography. Initially, it was primarily while traveling and in nature that I discovered abstract and contemporary photography. With a camera, you can create beautiful, individual works of art; you just have to get involved. This doesn't happen at the push of a button, however; it happens intuitively, based on the situation.
