The Church of Saint Gaianè is an Armenian church located a few kilometers from Yerevan. It was built in 630 AD by the Armenian Patriarch Ezra I. Its architectural features have remained virtually intact over the centuries, as has the devotion of its faithful. In 2000, the church and the surrounding archaeological site were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. A sumptuous and well-attended religious ceremony takes place every Sunday morning.
