This photograph is a reflection on the boundaries between the human and nature, between the body and memory. In the frame, the human figure dissolves into the tree’s branches, losing its outline. They become a single being — a tree of remembrance, where the past lives outside of time. The tree symbolizes roots, memory, the inner structure of the self. The person is its shadow, its breath, a moment of awareness. This work is about how we gaze into the world in order to remember ourselves.
