The initial idea was to narrate life in Orthodox monasteries, in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia. The impossibility of direct contact with these communities, except at Tchule Monastery, prompted me to change course: I decided to focus on the signs of faith and their visual presence. The little interaction and the prohibitions to photograph, led me to look for other ways to tell the sacred: light, architectural details, incense smoke, collected atmospheres. A work born of the unexpected, which found strength precisely in adaptation.
