Bound by Respect

In Mongolia’s Altai Mountains, an eagle hunter rises with his horse, golden eagle poised above — not in a show of dominance, but as the result of generations of trust, knowledge, and skill. This enduring triad between man, horse, and eagle reflects a way of life shaped by the land and passed down through centuries. The scene recalls legendary equestrian figures — Marcus Aurelius, Saladin, Napoleon — yet here, the bond is not forged through conquest, but through harmony. In a world of change, it stands as a testament to cultural resilience and the strength of living traditions.

Thibault Gerbaldi is a self-taught Leica photographer and passionate traveler, known for authentic stories from the world’s most remote regions. His work spans landscapes from Greenland to India, blending documentary, travel, and portrait. He has self-published seven books and earned recognition: 1st at Siena Awards 2025, International Photo Awards 2025, and TPOTY Rising Talent (2024). Exhibited globally and featured in LFI and LENS Magazine. As a board member of The Forgotten International, he supports humanitarian projects.
