This series explores the fragile boundary between coexistence and invasion. Set in Furano, Hokkaido, the photographs follow red foxes navigating roads, garbage, and traces of human life. From the innocent gaze of a cub to a lifeless body on asphalt, the narrative shifts from harmony to quiet disruption. In 2022, nearly 300 roadkill cases were recorded in just one region of Hokkaido. “Do Not Feed” signs now stand as warnings in altered habitats. Are we truly coexisting with wildlife—or silently invading their world?
