Eclipse of Form

  • Photographer
    Feng Yan

Eclipse of Form explores the tension between presence and absence through monochrome nude portraits. The human body becomes a sculptural landscape shaped by shadow and light, where intimacy and abstraction meet. This series invites quiet contemplation on the fragility, strength, and poetry of the physical form.

Feng Yan is a Chinese photographer based in HU, working primarily with analog film and natural light. His work focuses on the body, space, and emotion, often exploring vulnerability through monochrome images. With over 15 years of experience, he handles the full analog process himself, from shooting and developing to scanning and darkroom printing, giving his work material depth and integrity. He is an ARPS applicant at the Royal Photographic Society and is developing his profile as an international fine art photographer.
