"Pop Art Flowers" is a series I began in May to showcase the colorful splendor of nature in the style of Pop Art. The flower images shown here are my own photographic interpretation of Pop Art. The Pop Art style and its history probably need no further explanation. Each image was shot 7-8 times in RAW multiple exposure mode, using a mode I developed to achieve the desired effect. Each blossom comes from my garden, as do the decorative leaves in the middle layer. I chose a color-matching background for color contrast.
I am 54 years old and live in Seligenstadt, Hesse. For many years, I worked as a landscape gardener, where I was able to work creatively with nature. Due to tragic events, I can no longer pursue my profession, which gave me time to devote more intensively to photography. Initially, it was primarily while traveling and in nature that I discovered abstract and contemporary photography. With a camera, you can create beautiful, individual works of art; you just have to get involved. This doesn't happen at the push of a button, however; it happens intuitively, based on the situation.
