“Unseen” is a visual narrative about those who live on the margins of visibility — physically present, but socially erased. These ten images explore gestures, glances, and quiet postures that speak of dignity, vulnerability, and endurance. The series begins in abstraction and slowly enters the world of real, often overlooked lives. It invites the viewer to see not with judgment, but with attention. What do we fail to notice — and what does that say about us?
I am a Latvian photographer working at the intersection of poetic documentary and quiet observation. My work reflects my roots — growing up on the border of cultures and regimes — where silence speaks louder than words. I explore the margins — of cities, identity, and visibility — focusing on what is overlooked: traces, gestures, transitions. I photograph real life in all its imperfection and unpredictability. For me, photography is a way to ask questions, guess possible answers, and fix them in a visual form. When something resonates deeply, I press the shutter.
