“Unseen” is a visual narrative about those who live on the margins of visibility — physically present, but socially erased. These ten images explore gestures, glances, and quiet postures that speak of dignity, vulnerability, and endurance. The series begins in abstraction and slowly enters the world of real, often overlooked lives. It invites the viewer to see not with judgment, but with attention. What do we fail to notice — and what does that say about us?
I am a Latvian photographer based in Al?ksne, a small town on the northeastern border of Europe. My work explores silence, perception, and the unnoticed dimensions of everyday life. Working between poetic documentary and observational photography, I am drawn to subtle traces of human presence, fragile relationships between people and space, and the ways attention transforms ordinary reality. Through long-term projects and sustained observation, I investigate how repetition, time, and place shape both memory and perception.
