In 2019, I attended the Prayagraj Ardh Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, India. This event marked a significant moment, as it featured the Kinnar Akhara, a pioneering transgender ashram, led by Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, a prominent Hijra rights activist from Mumbai. Lakshmi’s vision was to reintroduce the Kinnar community into the sacred realm of Hinduism and by extension, into the broader social fabric. The striking RED TILAK adorning their foreheads transformed the Kinnar's into figures of divine presence, embodying an awakened wisdom and offering a new narrative of visibility and reverence.

Promila is a passionate photographer, curator, and creative entrepreneur, based in New Delhi, whose journey in the arts began in 1995 with the founding of several ventures spanning through fashion, Art & Lifestyle. These endeavors laid the foundation for her evolving artistic expression. However, it was the pandemic that rekindled her love for photography, guiding her toward a deeper understanding of her craft and allowing her to embrace her authentic self. Her work spans Street, Portrait, and Fine Art Photography, and she continues to draw inspiration from these genres. Promila’s photography
