Posting Wild, West Village engages with the visual language of urban collage by focusing on a wall layered with old advertising posters in the West Village. Using compositional rearrangement, color manipulation, and light, the photograph transforms the site into a constructed image of its own - one that reflects the presence of the infinite and the sacred, even in the most commonplace and discarded of places.
Sam Rittenberg lives and works in New York City and the Dominican Republic. His primary interest is in a photograph's power to convey the infinite and paradoxical nature of being. He is guided by the idea that every picture has the potential to be a portal to that which is ordinarily beyond us.
