"Lime, Time, Lime" captures the surface of a decaying construction container in the West Village. Through subtle manipulations of color, light, and composition, it reveals the paradox of matter that is simultaneously in a state of decay and becoming — a paradox present in all things, and in which can be found understanding and acceptance of the will and way of the universe.
Sam Rittenberg lives and works in New York City and the Dominican Republic. His primary interest is in the ability of a photograph to express the infinite and paradoxical nature of being. He is guided by the idea that every picture has the potential to be a portal to that which is ordinarily beyond us. Twenty of Mr. Rittenberg’s works have been recognized in international competitions, including the Annual Photography Awards, Chromatic Awards, Fine Arts Photography Awards, International Photo Awards, Neutral Density Awards, Refocus - World Photo Annual, and the Tokyo International Foto Awards.
