Rome’s Tangenziale Est, the elevated road of Rome, is often dubbed the “monster.” Towering over the urban landscape, it runs just meters from homes in some sections. Its presence has deeply altered the eastern part of the city, with visible effects on residents’ quality of life. This project explores how such infrastructure shapes habits, relationships, and perceptions, giving voice to those who live daily in the shadow of this imposing structure. Rome’s Tangenziale Est represents another side of the city—one often overlook by traditional routes.
