Sunrises are associated with life, well-being and positivity, while sunsets are often associated with darkness, bittersweetness and finality. With further thought however, one realizes that one person's sunset is,in another part of the world, another's sunrise. In effect, then, the sun is always rising.
Vicki Provost earned an MA in studio art from Western Carolina University with a concentration in photography. She taught fine art photography as adjunct faculty while receiving awards in juried exhibitions. She has exhibited in museums and galleries in the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. Further work includes time as an artist in residence in North Carolina, South Carolina and Alaska. Her images have appeared in publications such as L’oeil de la Photographie and Smithsonian Magazine. Vicki Provost resides and maintains a studio in Western North Carolina.
