I took these photos while driving the desolate desert backroads of New Mexico. Immediately I was transfixed by the quietness & the subtle movements of sage & clouds. The distant horizon was blackened by storms. The constant hum of nothingness reverberated quieter than silence, yet roared in my head. I drove solo down dirt roads that vanished into open desert & sky. There was a perpetual dust storm. The air was filled with fine particulates which exaggerated the dramatic light of the enormous sky. Navajo, Laguna, Zuni, & Apache lands. Bright sun, dark clouds, cold wind & dust. Always dust.
