On July 8, 2024, Russian forces launched devastating strike on Kyiv’s Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, the largest in the country. Among the victims was nine-year-old Andriy Magarevska, who has a neurological condition. As air raid sirens blared, his mother, Olena, shielded him in the intensive care unit. Unable to evacuate him due to his medical needs, she held his hand tightly as chaos unfolded around them. After five harrowing hours, he was finally evacuated.
