There is a lot of intensity in this child's eyes. He is an apprentice musician in a band of Gnaouan musicians in Morocco. The Gnaouans are sub-saharan people who have been in Morocco for many generations and hold tight to their musical traditions. I often think back to this look of total absorption on this you man.
“As a Cultural Photographer I try to look for scenes, people, or situations that reflect local culture and life. Sometimes I just shoot what I like. But whatever the motivation to take a picture: I have a deep, personal connection with the places and people represented in these photographs. As I shoot, I try to take nothing for granted knowing that the moment in time I am freezing may never happen again.”
