Artisanal miner work at a cassiterite mine-pit in Ntufia in Democratic Rpublic of the Congo. As no road to this village, 100% of goods and transport of minerals is done by foot. Porters carries up to 80kgs of minerals, paid at a very low rate. Similar for goods. Some spend up to three days to make the 17km. Some people ine area just need to get cassiterite to sell and get what to eat.Cassiterite mining negatively affect enviroment, especially rivers are polluted.
