Religious celebrations seem confined to an ancient world, but in reality they have their roots in modernity with all its symbolic value. Ignudi is an ancient but always new story that on July 2nd of every year in Enna, Sicily, the Ignudi brotherhood wants to remind us through the celebration of the Madonna SS. of the Visitation. Is it a manifestation of profound faith or a simple popular tradition? Surely on this day we return to the origins, where the boundaries between the religious world and the secular world collapse to make room for an emotional collective.

Natascia Aquilano is a freelance photographer who lives and works in Rome. After the degree in Communication Sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome, she starts to develop an ever-growing interest in the photography, interpreted not only like purely descriptive means, but especially like communicative means, with which evoke, narrate and document the "circumstances of the point of view" through pictures. Her studies on Visual Communication start as self-taught, later consolidated at the ISFCI of Rome. Social and documentary photography has always been at the centre of her main interests.
