In 1867 the outlaw Joset Wales, on the run, had a $5,000 bounty on his head dead or alive. Once he crossed the Texas state line, Texas Governor Elisha Marshall Pease, dropped another $10 grand, making Josey Wales the most wanted man in America with a $15,000 bounty dead or alive.
