Kimono culture is now being lost in Japan. As a Japanese, it is very sad. There are many reasons for this, but the difficulty of dressing and the many traditional rules are probably the main reasons. It is very important to preserve the traditional kimono culture, but at the same time, we need to create new ways to wear kimono. Therefore, I created the image of a "Funky Geisha" using my friends as models. Kimonos are very beautiful and can be enjoyed freely.

I am a Japanese art photographer working as an assistant professor in Taiwan. I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 35 years old. As a cancer survivor and an artist, life, sex, and death are very important themes to me. My work is a tool to connect me to "the world".
