Photography is a precise art. But it can be used to create impressions of the world around us no different than the Impressionists did in their first exhibit in Paris in 1874. Capturing images of the world around us is more than the mere act of making a photograph. It is the ability to capture the emotion that moves us when we see what others might miss. Color, form, subject matter and light all come into play. A great photograph will move the viewer as much as it has moved the photographer who had captured it.
Alex Nyerges is an internationally-award-winning photographer, curator, author, and photo historian who has exhibited across the United States, Australia, and Europe. His work is in collections in New York, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Ohio, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Tampa, Richmond, Budapest, and elsewhere. His work has been exhibited in Atlanta, Budapest, Canberra, Houston, Richmond, Vienna, and Washington, D.C., among other places. A native of Rochester, New York, the home of George Eastman and the Eastman Kodak Company, he grew up with a family tradition in photography.
