All-time record rainfall struck Hong Kong on September 7, 2023, flooding streets, underground stations and shopping malls; causing landslides, and leaving at least two people dead and injuring more than 100 people. The gravity of the rainstorm was so strong that stock markets and schools were suspended, as Hong Kong was hit by the heaviest rainstorms in 140 years based on records. The 23-years-old Asian photojournalist travelled across the city to document the devastation it has caused to the Asian financial hub, and the efforts it put into restoring normalcy for the city.
