Climate Crisis

  • Photographer
    Tailai Obrien

A lone emu stares across the valley as the farmland once grazing sheep is now turned into a wind farm. There are currently more than seventy turbines dotting the horizon at this location, and one must consider at what point does this man made visual pollutant, be considered hazardous? Some little known side effects include toxic emissions, noise and a relatively short operating period despite its non environmentally friendly build and lack of recyclability.

Tailai OBrien is a fifth generation farmer and champion for the preservation of heritage breeds of livestock. Tailai has a passion for sustainable agricultural practices and ecological care of the land. This philosophy requires keen observational awareness and creative thinking. The play of light and these two skills are key elements incorporated into Tailai's intuitive approach to photography.
