The Red Carpet

This was the last morning of a 23 day Kenya trip. I was in the Maasai Mara on the way to a tiny airstrip. We got the word that the leopard Luluka was in a tree not so far away. As an arborist, trees have been my life. Their importance to animals is often overlooked. Without that tree, there would be no leopard. It is her refuge and ours as well on a more global scale. I call it "The Red Carpet" because of the grace she waltzed down from her perch. Any movie star on the red carpet would be envious. I predicted her line so I could get her silhouetted and stay wide to show the environment.

Hello, my name is Trevor Lowthers. I'm married. I’m Canadian. I won the lottery of life being born here. I've been to over a third of the countries in the world. Arborist by trade, I have owned my own company for over twenty five years and continue to climb trees for a living and spend my downtime seeking truths around the world. From my experiences, I write novels and donate the proceeds to people helping animals anywhere around the world. I do this through a nonprofit I run called Literary PAWS - Protecting Animals Worldwide Society.
