My two sons and I had to leave our new flat and the rest of the family and go to another country, now refugees. Through this project, I wanted to convey most of the main developments associated with what is happening in our country, using children`s things that we have. These are the symbols that any Ukrainian recognizes: our victories and defeats, longing for home and family, and worries about them. Also, these are the impressions about war and its consequences that my eldest 5-year-old son has. These are the things that cannot be understood without experience. And it is impossible to forget.
Oleksandra Mykhailutsa is a product and conceptual still-life photographer from Odesa, known for her imaginative compositions featuring everyday objects. While studying to be a family doctor, she pursued photography, with a focus on still life and macro work. After gaining experience in commercial photography, she found fulfillment in conceptual still-life, often using sweets and levitation in her creative scenes. Her work has earned her accolades on platforms like Talenthouse. Oleksandra now balances personal projects, education, and family life in Odesa.
