Honorable Mention in Fine Art / Abstract

From raw energy to sublime. The charcoal medium creates contrast and texture, while the abstract style invites imagination. The lily symbolizes purity, renewal, and transcendence, contrasting with the harsh charcoal strokes and suggesting a balance between beauty and challenges. The emergence from a gash represents overcoming struggles or a metaphorical rebirth. The artwork's emotional impact is open to individual interpretation, inviting viewers to reflect on themes of beauty, adversity, and transformation. Photographed using 4x5 large format Linhof film camera.
