I visited Brooks Camp in Alaska last September to photograph brown bears. One day, when I was walking on a platform overlooking Brooks River, I noticed two brown bears in the river. In anticipation, I quickly set up my camera, and began observing them. The bears began rolling around in the water and play-fighting. I captured a series of photos, but this one drew me in instantly because one of the bears looked straight at my direction while shaking its head, with water swirling around the head. I was grateful to witness and capture this fleeting moment, and end up with a great memory.
