For this project, I applicated collection of images of Swedish photographer Sune Sundahl featuring the iconic Swedish avant-garde dancer Birgit Åkesson. Employing a range of innovative techniques such as multiexposition imagery, digital collage, artificial hues, and intricate lighting, my ultimate goal was to weave together profound contrasts, conjuring unique moods that cast an aura of enigmatic allure of Avante-garde dance. This series echoes the dynamic interplay between tradition and evolution, and Avante-garde visual storytelling.
Elli Asker is a multidisciplinary artist based in Stockholm, born and raised in Baku (former Soviet Union). Hold a bachelor's degree in political science. Without barriers in her creative research, she tries her hand at photography, collages, and various experiments. In her work, Elli investigates the relationship between experiences of PTSD healing, queer and immigrant identities.
