The photographs were influenced by Japanese religious paintings, which mix Eastern and Western religious views. While using Japanese kimono obis, the models were a mix of Japanese and European models. In Japan, there is a ritual of purifying oneself with water when entering a sacred place, and this was used in the representation as there is a similar form in Christian baptism.
Using water and kimonos, I creates artworks on the theme of Japanese culture and Japanese religious beliefs.
