The stream of imagination can cut quickly through content, leaving a sort of geologic record of its trail of discovery. When I'm in that flow, I want as many layers to peel back as possible.
My artwork is often manipulated through a complex and intuitive process that transforms compelling photographs of color, form and composition into digital paintings that take on their own identity, distinct from the original subject matter. I only use my own photography, never capture these images with any preconception of the end result, and never employ AI programs. I take my internal editor offline and allow myself to be immersed in an intuitive conversation with abstract visuals. Only when the work is finished do titles begin to suggest themselves.
