Fishermen and Fish Trade In Zanzibar

Fishing is one of the main sources of wealth and jobs on the island of Zanzibar. It has been practiced in the same way for centuries, using the traditional Zanzibari boats, known as Dhow. The fishermen go out with their Dhows every afternoon, to return at dawn the next day after a night of fishing. The fish is delivered and transported from the boats to the shore, and then given to beach vendors, to be then immediately sold
