What Has The Kettle Seen?

  • Photographer
    Marta Kolodziejczyk

The aim of this work was to create a reportage cycle of pinhole photography telling a story about everyday life. Instead of an ordinary camera, a kettle converted into a pinhole camera and loaded with large format sheet film was used. The photos were taken from the perspective of the item. As a common thing found in every home the kettle seems to be an excellent observer what is happening around it, which is why the places of photographed events are kitchens in various houses as a space for mundane, though sometimes unusual events.

Photographer looking for what is important and beautiful to her. In a constant pursuit of emotions, she passionately tries to find her place in the world of images. Addicted to melancholy and the past, she fights for her piece of the present. Graphic design student fascinated by visual communication, seeking to expand her knowledge in everything that concerns visual arts. Alternative photography lover, analog and darkroom user. Until now she tried her hand at forgotten processes such as cyanotype and vandyke bronze. She dreams of wet collodion and carbon transfer.
