I Am Late...

Being in a town far away from my photographic habitat, this image emerges very early in the morning, a child who rushed to school in a hurry, was late for his class.

This image is from Araya, a town resting on a salt mine in the northeastern corner of Venezuela. The heat intensifies with the evaporation of the salt from the mine, and light passes through water and salt evaporation, giving the image different tones, sometimes even sepia in the middle of the day. In the middle of these solitary sands we find a small construction used by travelers to hide for a moment from the burning sands and salt flats. Once inside you see in the distance the placidity of the sea, and your only desire is to leave your backpack and run to the sea.
