Directly or indirectly, every Korean has been affected by the Korean war. My grandmother was born and raised in Pyongyang, now the capital city of North Korea. With her own eyes, she watched as communists dragged her father away from my family. It was the last time she ever saw him. Grandmother only spoke of that story once. Years later, i was shocked to find Korean war is referred to as the Forgotten War. These questions led me along the borderline from west to east. There my answers became a photographic journey expressed by the people and things left behind in the shadow of the forgotten.
