This digital manipulation shows a very quiet and off-the-beaten-path part of Venice that was far from the tourist hordes that are so common there. To show this quiet place as the refuge that it was required the use of filters to bring out the details of the surrounding buildings, the canal water, and the small bridge off in the distance. We met several people there who gave us great ideas for how to spend the remainder of our visit.
My professional background is in university administration. I am an amateur photographer whose interests are primarily in abstract and experimental, modern art photography. I also enjoy more traditional travel-related photography focused mainly in the areas of architecture, nature and landscapes. Some of my early photography accompanied the pages of an online literary magazine. In addition, I am the author of two published mystery novels for which I designed the cover art.
