Homines dicti Walser was born as a thesis project in Visual Communication at SUPSI, but its goal is deeper. This book seeks to research and document the present of the Walser people, a cultural minority whose origins seem to be linked to the Alemanni’s colonization of the Alps, which globalization is threatening to make disappear. Through images and testimonies, faces, traditions, architecture and landscapes, the project is a 360° vision on today’s Walser communities, high mountain villages between the modern and the ancient, where latest generations make their best to keep traditions alive.
