This series depicts a cup of black filter coffee, viewed from above. Each image is captured minutes apart. 'Transient Galaxy' refers to the brief, meditative act of reflection during a shared experience. "By sharing our experiences there is someone other than ourselves who is aware of the sum total of our journey." (Rönnegard, D., 2017). We begin to understand an act of sharing means to become briefly acquainted with the world or 'galaxy' of an individual. To reflect the organic nature of this idea, the composition of bubbles has been left to chance and retouching used only to aid visibility.
