Dueling Warblers

This is an image of two Yellow-rumped Warblers fighting over food in the garden. The North American spring migration of 2022 in Minnesota was cold, wet and late. Warblers are largely insect feeders and because of the late cold weather, there were not many insets to be had. That meant that every bit of food they could find was argued over. I had suet/ fat feeders out for our winter birds and for two weeks, dozens of warblers fed on them. These two were fighting over a specific feeder and I was able to set up my camera for taking this shot using a shutter release.
