Setsugekka(Snow, Moon, and Flowers) is a word that evokes a sense of Japanese beauty. Following the Czech painter Mucha's personification of the seasons into women in his work called The Four Seasons, I chose women as my subjects. And while clad in the traditional Japanese costume of the kimono, I also incorporated innovative ways of dressing to symbolize the beauty of snow, moon, and flowers.
